NABA STATEMENT
Federal Charges Filed Against Brian Cole Jr.
December 4, 2025
The National Association of Bail Agents has been informed of federal criminal charges filed today against Brian Cole Jr. in connection with pipe bombs placed outside the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 5, 2021.
Media reports today have referenced the bail profession in connection with these charges. As the nation's leading professional association for bail agents, NABA is issuing this statement to clarify important facts.
- Brian Cole Jr. was never a member of NABA.
- According to FBI court documents, Brian Cole Jr. worked in his family's bail bond office but never stated he was a licensed bail agent.
- NABA unequivocally condemns all forms of political violence.
Suppose the allegations contained in the federal complaint are proven. In that case, the alleged conduct represents a profound betrayal of the rule of law, public safety, and the foundational principles of our constitutional democracy. Such actions are antithetical to everything our profession stands for and incompatible with service to the American justice system.
The bail profession exists to support the orderly administration of justice, ensure court appearance, and protect public safety within the framework of law. Acts of political violence—against any person, institution, or political party—contradict the very purpose of our profession and undermine the justice system we serve.
NABA membership represents a voluntary commitment to professional excellence, ethical conduct, and unwavering dedication to the rule of law. Our members across the nation demonstrate daily what professional bail service truly means: integrity, accountability, and dedicated service to the courts and the communities we serve.
While we cannot comment further on an ongoing federal criminal investigation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards in the bail profession.
